Tecno WinPad 10 Specifications and Price

Let's face it, tablets are less sold to smartphones these days and those winning in the sales of tablets are the likes of Samsung and Apple with respect to the Nigerian market. However, Tecno is looking at getting a big chunk of those customers interested in windows tablets with the release of their new Tecno WinPad 10 running Windows 8.1 Operating System and comes with a detachable keyboard.

The new WinPad 10 is a 10.1 inch tablet running the full blown Microsoft Windows 8.1 operating system, has dimensions 260 x 174 x 9.8 mm, dual boom stereo speakers, lightweight and feels very premium when handled which is also reflected in its price. Below are the specifications of the device.

Display
WinPad 10 is a 10.1 inch display Windows 8.1 tablet with a 10 point multitouch capacitive IPS touchscreen and a WXVGA resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels.

Operating System
Tecno WinPad 10 comes with a full blown Windows 8.1 operating system with Bing, based on x64 (64bit) architecture and that means you can do all of the things you do on your laptop computer on the tablet.

Processors
The above mentioned WinPad 10 tablet comes with an Intel Atom Z3735F processor with quad cores clocked at 1.83GHz. This processor has been seen in some very good tablets like the Acer Aspire Switch 10 and was released in the first quarter of 2014

Memory
The device comes with an internal flash storage of 32GB eMMC + 2GB DDR3L RAM. It also has a microSD slot that supports up to 64GB memory and 2MB cache.

Network Bands
It has a single SIM card that supports 3G network technology with bands 900MHz and 2100MHz and 2G network technology with bands 900MHz and 1800MHz. This means that you can use the device in most European and Asian countries but may not function well in North American countries.

Camera
The device comes with a 5MP back camera with auto focus, obviously capable of taking images and videos and a 2MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity
The WinPad 10 do impress with its connectivity features. It has a micro HDMI port, micro USB port, an Intel 802.11 b/g/n wireless card and a Bluetooth 4.0 device in it. The device also comes with a 3 in 1 detachable keyboard cover for enhanced productivity when purchased.

Battery
Tablets are known for having long lasting batteries and the Tecno WinPad 10 stays true to that by coming with a 7000mAh battery that is more than capable to take you through the day with leftovers for the heavy user resulting more productivity for the user.

Price
Here comes one of the important specs. The Tecno WinPad 10 is currently offered for sale at a price of N57,000 from slot and it may vary depending on the store.

Verdict
Tecno obviously put a lot of thought in producing this tablet and the quality, specs and price is a mix that will appeal to quite a lot of people, especially those that can't afford the Windows Surface tablets. Hence we give the device a 7.5/10. The reasons for this score is due to the fact that the device has limited storage (32GB), comes in just one color (black) and no standard USB A port on the device.

What are you thoughts? Do you think it deserves a better rating?

Tecno M3 Specifications and Features

Tecno is making the news again after a slight break. This time around Tecno have released a low-end smartphone called Tecno M3 for those that are on a tight budget.  This phone comes with 8GB internal memory card, USB adapter & charger, earphone and a plastic case. Although Tecno L3 and D3 are almost the same with M3, M3 has a better camera (5mp) with more swift feel especially when browsing. L3 on the other hand has a better battery performance but much slower internet speed. As we said in one of our posts, the 3 is a designation for low-end devices and the newly released L3 and M3 is proof of that. For a device of the price, feel and usage is smooth enough. Make sure you check the speaker of your M3 since some have reported that its not too clear. Below is the specifications of the M3 low-end smartphone. Network : the new M3 supports both 2G and 3G networks Connectivity : Bluetooth 3.0 with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). It also has

How To Root Tecno Phantom A (Tecno F7)

There are no limit to the possibilities one can achieve on a rooted Android device compared to one that isn't rooted. As you know, Rooting is to Androin as Jailbreak is to iOS. For those that don't know what rooting means, a little definition will suffice. Rooting basically means that you install a set of programs on your phone that gives you total control over your device. Total control means that you have the right to install any applications or even delete core applications that you don't want.  Simply put, you have administrative rights over your device, giving  you super user access, and of course, you can use DroidVPN to have free unlimited internet. The guide below shows how you can root Tecno Phantom A also known as Tecno F7 and its super easy to achieve. Don't forget to like us on Facebook. Requirements 1. Computer with internet connection 2. How To Unbrick Tecno F7 Smartphone

About a week ago, a friend rooted his Tecno Phantom A smartphone. He was so excited about the endless possibilities to customize his device so he kept installing a lot of applications that caught his attention unaware of the dangers some apps can create on rooted smartphones. Finally, he installed an application called Font Changer Lite and that was when it all happened. After installing this app, his phone attempted to reboot and instead of booting normally, the phone froze at the Tecno logo. It wasn’t going passed that state. He couldn’t boot into his phone. Practically, his phone was bricked and had to look for a way to unbrick and use his phone again. If you are presently in the same limbo state as described, please follow the instructions below step by step to fix your device. I recommend reading through first before actually starting the process. Kudos to Seunpayne of Nairaland for uploading his files for download and also giving instructions on the usage.
