BlackBerry Devices To Officially Run Android Apps

There had been rumors of Google and BlackBerry having talks on how to allow the execution of Android apps on BlackBerry devices officially.  It is "officially" in the sense that normally, one could easily side-load, that is, install android apps into BlackBerry phones unofficially. For example you could convert some apk files into bar files and then install them on BlackBerry PlayBook. However, with the emergence of BlackBerry 10 OS, it became even easier to side-load these Android apps on BlackBerry 10 devices due to the Android runtime environment baked into them with substantial restrictions; Most of these side-loading of android apps are done non-officially. Now, with the emergence of BlackBerry 10.2.1 update, it seems that BlackBerry is taking these limitations off the Android runtime baked into BB10 OS. Thus its easier to run android apps. Fake BBM Application in the Google Play Store

Just today, we have noticed a fake Blackberry Messenger in the Google Play Store that have been submitted and already getting downloads and points. Already, 1,870 people have downloaded this application that could be either a malware or virus. As stated, this application wasn't developed by Blackberry (formerly Research In Motion) company but made by some folks who are either trying to gain attention of Blackberry company or wanting to get inside the devices of Android users.  Please be warned not to download this app. Blackberry haven't officially released the real Blackberry messenger and when it does we shall be very well pleased to let you know. Stay tuned to this blog for information on when the genuine Blackberry messenger will become available for both Android and iOS devices.

The new Gmail for Android smartphones

Google have rolled out new Gmail app for Android smartphones with easy access and messages are now tagged with alphabets for easy identifications of mails and groupings as we pointed out in our recent post last week. The first character of the Message sender or subject is boldly placed in a colored box for fast identification of the sender. This makes it easier to recognize and even group messages from the same sender together. Check out the images below for you consideration. This color coding effect is wise, cool and well done. The mail is less loud and more soothing. Also, swiping from right to left puts the message in Archive . If you don't want the swipe to archive function, you can disable it by going to Settings , General Settings and uncheck the Swipe to archive function.
