Main Reason Why BBM Release Was Paused

As soon as my friend like other 1.1 million people loaded BBM for Android on his Android phone, he knew it was what he wanted and not Whatsapp. He was able to ping his other phone for about 5 minutes before it stopped working. It was the leaked version after all and that has caused troubles for BlackBerry and consequently no BBM for Android yet.   Their is a New update from the BlackBerry company  talking about the release of BBM for both android and iPhone. They said that on the day of the release their was an older version of BBM for andriod that was released on the same day that the BBM should have been officially released and that older version had caused an overload on the system that eventually made them to pause BBM for both iPhone and android.  Andrew Bocking said in a statement that ' this "fixing"will take time and I don't anticipate launching this week' sorry guys but it looks your gonna have to wait'. According to Andrew, the problem cau...

BBM For Android and iPhone Not Releasing This Week

Looks like the wait for BBM to totally go cross platform will take longer than anyone expected. This was the case when Andrew Bocking, Head of BBM at BlackBerry released a statement on the Inside BlackBerry Blog which explains the problems that occurred on Saturday's launch date, and steps that are currently being taken to fix it. See his statement below "Last week, an unreleased, older version of the BBM for Android app was posted on numerous file sharing sites. We were aware of an issue with this unreleased version of the BBM for Android app. This older version resulted in volumes of data traffic orders of magnitude higher than normal for each active user and impacted the system in abnormal ways. The version we were planning to release on Saturday addressed these issues, however we could not block users of the unreleased version if we went ahead with the launch. We attempted to address the problems caused by the unreleased version throughout the day on Sa...

BlackBerry Sold To Fairfax For $4.7 Billion

Most of the media was busy bashing and writing about the 4500 job cut  and the almost $1 billion loss being the last nail in the coffin for BlackBerry.  Not to even talk about the failed launch of BBM for Android and iPhone last week, today the company shook things up yet again when it officially announced that its going private and it's shares would be sold for $9 each.  The rumours of Prem Watsa and his firm, Fairfax Financial, leading a bid to take BlackBerry private have proven to be true and confirmed especially after a statement that was released by Wasta below. "We believe this transaction will open an exciting new private chapter for BlackBerry, its customers, carriers and employees. We can deliver immediate value to shareholders, while we continue the execution of a long-term strategy in a private company with a focus on delivering superior and secure enterprise solutions to BlackBerry customers around the world" . The board of directors at ...

The cause of Death: Rise of Smartphones

Laptop computers just like Desktop computers are nearing their inevitable end. Some years back, Laptops gave a dashing blow to the Desktop computers that made them look inferior and weak after so many years of trust and love by consumers. Even though, Laptops were replacing desktop computers in a way, desktop computers still had a place in homes and offices and will still do for some years to come. The victory was to laptops but not for long as new set of devices known as Smartphones are becoming more rampant thereby forcing laptops to take the position of desktop computers. As already observed  by the consistent dwindling in the sales of popular laptop computers like HP, Dell, Acer etc,  soon enough Laptop computers would be pronounced dead and the cause of death is obviously the rise of Smartphones. When this happens, most laptops will sit on the tables at home and would be used indoors. Smartphones are the big boys in town. It can do a lot of things t...
