When it comes to tablets, Apple's iPad is the highest selling tablet and of course, the preferred. The iPad mini and regular iPad has always been a successful product and Apple have always out-do competing products. Tomorrow 22nd October, Apple is set to unveil its new retina display iPad mini and a lighter and thinner 9.7inch iPad 5. This was confirmed by WSJ today. The lighter and thinner iPad 5 will be built with a thin film as the screen instead of using glass like the previous versions. This will in turn make this new iPad not only thinner but also lighter. As Apple prepares for their event tomorrow, Microsoft is also going to be unveiling their second generation tablet; looking to woo some customers to itself. It wasn't too long ago that BlackBerry released a open heartfelt letter to its customers stating why they should stick with them and not give up on BlackBerry. Part of that letter also made mention of BBM for Android and iPhone which means that commitment is still high in that area. To further buttress this, BlackBerry's CMO, Frank Boulben spoke with Reuters and said that as a matter of fact, BlackBerry Messenger will be coming to Android and iPhone for real this time in matters of days. Its not clear how many days we are talking about here especially considering that the first launch which happened 3 weeks ago was a mess. However, Frank Boulben says that he's confident that BlackBerry was able to address the issue that plagued the initial launch. What does this suggest? Well, it just means that very soon, BBM on Android and iPhone will be a reality for everyone soon enough.

HTC have finally announced its HTC One Max phablet yesterday with massive specs and features. The HTC One Max is a 5.9 inch phablet with some nice features as the HTC One flagship smartphone but with some new additions to it. One of the areas where it the HTC One max outshines the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is in the fingerprint sensor One maxis embedded with. Although, the camera and processor is still the same as the HTC One smartphone (Snapdragon 600 variety), the One Max does have a space for extra memory slot in addition to the already present 16/32GB internal memory. Software-wise, the One Max comes with HTC’s Sense 5.5 software sitting on top of Android 4.3. There’s no word on whether a Google Play Edition version of the One Max will be available, unfortunately. Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected in 2014, however, a Korean media says that the company is getting ready to tease the device for January 2014 and then release for February 2014. In fact, Naver cites insiders who claim that the Galaxy S5 would be teased as early as January 2014, and be announced the next month, in February. That coincides with the MWC expo, and it doesn't seem far fetched that Samsung is going to unveil something major around those dates.
