Google Nexus 6 Specifications and Features

With every release of a new Android Operating system comes a new Nexus smartphone and tablet and this year is no different.

Google earlier yesterday released the new Android 5.0 Lollipop to the world and the first set of the devices to come with the newly released Android OS is the new set of Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 tablet owned by Google and designed by Motorola.

The Nexus 6 is a beautifully well crafted and designed smartphone which resembles to an extent the Moto X smartphone.

Design
The shape, feel and look is not so far from the same design we saw with the new 2nd generation Moto X smartphone. The only difference here is that it is bigger in terms of screen size. Hence, the Nexus 6 is a bigger but similar version of the Moto X in terms of physical design.

Screen
Displays can't not be overlooked when it comes to smartphones especially with the high resolution displays that Samsung and LG are packing in their smartphones these days. The Nexus 6 didn't disappoint in this category at all. It comes with a 5.9 inch quad HD display having a resolution of 1,440 x 2560 just like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 however the PPI is 497.8. This is a pretty decent smartphone with gorgeous display.

As the trend to keep reducing display bezels increases, Nexus 6 have been able to make sure that the end to end bezel is as thin as possible thereby giving rise to an impressive phablet.

Camera
A smartphone without a great camera will be a faulty smartphone. Nexus 6 comes with a 13.0 mega pixel rear camera with optical stabilization possible of producing great shots. Image quality is vivid and image size can be as high as 7MB depending on the settings. Front camera for taking selfies stands at 2.0 mega pixel.

Videos can be recorded in 1080p @30fps and 60fps. As earlier stated there is image stabilization on this smartphone.

Processor and Memory
The Nexus 6 spots a quad core 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 inside. There is also an Adreno 420 GPU embedded in the Nexus 6 and this caters for the graphic-intensive games and videos.

The Nexus 6 will also come with a 32GB internal storage and a 64GB internal storage option. It also has a 3GB RAM inside keeping things up and running smoothly.

Battery and Features
The Nexus 6 comes with a 3,220 mAh battery which is massive and efficient. Because the Nexus family comes with stock Android OS, their performances have always being good and that is why the Nexus 6 will be super fluid with no battery draining bloatware apps on it.

Release date and Price
The Nexus 6 will be due for pre - order come October 17th and according to sources, will be priced at $649 off contract. It will be available in more than 25 countries when its finally ready for actual selling.

We think the Nexus 6 is one of the best Nexus smartphone yet especially with the specifications we are seeing. Although, it is way pricier when compared to the previous Nexus devices, its specs and features makes the price justified.

As we said in one of our posts, the 3 is a designation for low-end devices and the newly released L3 and M3 is proof of that. For a device of the price, feel and usage is smooth enough. Make sure you check the speaker of your M3 since some have reported that its not too clear. Below is the specifications of the M3 low-end smartphone.
