The Mobile World Congress 2015 happening today in Barcelona is already raising hits and major smartphone manufacturers are going to be unveiling some cool stuffs; HTC has already started by taking the wraps off their flagship device HTC M9 and the specifications and features are very juicy, in fact the future of HTC M9 is very good. Below we present to you all the specs released for the HTC M9 smartphone.
Design
Design is very important in today's world of smartphone. You can't have a phone looking like a turaya phone even with great specs and expect it to sell especially seeing how smartphones are becoming fashion accessories. The HTC M9 has a well flushed body and has dimensions 144.6 x 69.7 x 9.6mm and weighs just 157g.
SIM and Network
The HTC M9 will come with a nano, single SIM card slot with support for GSM, HSPA and LTE network technology.
Display
The HTC M9 will come with a super LCD 3 capacitive touchscreen, 16 million colors seen through the 5.0 inch, 1080 x 1920 pixels (441 PPI) display. Not only that, it also comes with the scratch resistant sapphire glass for extra screen durability.
Operating System and Chip
HTC M9 comes with Android Lollipop 5.0.x right from the box and that is what we expect with the HTC sense 7.0 UI on top of it. Again, we really like the fact that the phone has a Qualcomm MSM8994 snapdragom 810 chip with combines quad core 1.5GHz cortex A53 and quad core 2.0GHz cortex A57 processor - hence, HTC M9 is an octa core processor smartphone with an Adreno 430 as its GPU.
Memory
HTC M9 comes with a 3GB RAM and a 32GB internal memory with an SD card slot that supports up to 128GB memory card. This is to make sure that you don't complain of space on your device especially seeing how more people are now storing their files in the cloud.
Camera
Camera on smartphones is swiftly trying to catch up with professional cameras. The camera on the HTC M9 is very powerful and will also in many number of cases will produce images that will be at par with professional cameras with little or no tweaking with its 2.0 µm pixel size, f/2.0 and ultra wide angle lens that allows 300% more light in for a perfect picture.
The HTC M9 comes with a 20.7 mega pixel BSI technology back camera with images as high as 5376 x 3752 pixels. It also has auto-focus, dual LED (dual tone) flash. For video recording, it has a automatic simultaneous video and image recording with geo tagging, HDR, panorama and face/smile detection.
Video can be recorded at 2100p @30fps, 1080p @60fps and 720p @120fps.
The front camera is 5.0 mega pixel and can take HDR pictures and videos at 1080p @30fps.
Connectivity
As you may have expected, the device comes with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual band, WiFi direct, DLNA and hotspot features. Bluetooth v4.1, A2DP and apt-X. Furthermore it comes with the standard microUSB v2.0 (MHL 3.0 TV-out), USB host, NFC, infrared port and FM Radio with RDS.
Sensors
The usual suspects when it comes to sensors are accelerometer, gyro, light and compass. The HTC M9 has them all and of course they will all come in handy when they are needed.
Battery
HTC M9 comes with a non-removable LiPo ion 2840mAh battery with up to 400h of standby time and 25hr of talk time. The fact its non removable may not go well with some folks but that is what you get with the new HTC M9.

With the HTC M9 home screen icon will change accordingly to your location to reflect apps that you use most frequently in that location. Sound is even better than the predecessor M8.
