Facebook Free Internet Service To Be Put On Hold

Data services in some parts of the world can be very expensive and quite a lot of people would be glad if there is free internet for all especially in a country like India where a large population of people 252 million out of 1.3 billion have access to substantial data and Internet services.

To help more Indians have access to the Internet, the CEO of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg decided to roll out free Internet to the masses known as Free Basics. The Free Basics initiative which started 10 months ago in conjunction with Reliant Communications is now unfortunately put on hold by the government due to certain bodies sharing concerns that it violates  net neutrality principles. According to www.smartcritique.com, "In Free Basics, one will get just a Facebook version and very few other websites and services. Free Basics does not only betray itself but it is also against the concept of Net Neutrality."

In the worlds of Mark Zuckerberg, "the internet is one of the most powerful tools for economic and social progress. It gives people access to jobs, knowledge and opportunities. It gives voice to the voiceless in our society, and it connects people with vital resources for health and education." (2015).

Although, the free Internet initiative in India has hit a brick wall, Mark Zuckerberg has maintained that the free internet initiative does not go against any spirit of net neutrality. Currently, more than 800 million people in 9 countries can now access free basic services through Internet.org. and more will have access to free internet as the program continues.

This time around Tecno have released a low-end smartphone called Tecno M3 for those that are on a tight budget.  This phone comes with 8GB internal memory card, USB adapter & charger, earphone and a plastic case. Although Tecno L3 and D3 are almost the same with M3, M3 has a better camera (5mp) with more swift feel especially when browsing. L3 on the other hand has a better battery performance but much slower internet speed. As we said in one of our posts, the 3 is a designation for low-end devices and the newly released L3 and M3 is proof of that. For a device of the price, feel and usage is smooth enough. Make sure you check the speaker of your M3 since some have reported that its not too clear. Below is the specifications of the M3 low-end smartphone.
