Its very interesting to see things unfold in the tech industry. On of those interesting things is the announcement of BBM for Desktop which was announced at the BlackBerry Jam Asia yesterday. BBM for desktop computers which had the same touch and feel with the BBM for smartphones was shown off by Alec Saunders and Chris Smith to attendees. This version according to Alec Saunders will use both USB and WiFi for connectivity. Word on the development of BBM for Mac was also released, saying that development is on going for mac computers but was their no mention of any release date for it. Samsung is gearing up to be the first to release a curved display for smartphones come October this year.  This plan was initially revealed in Seoul during the launch of Galaxy Note 3 and it does seem that its going to materialize sooner than expected. Although, Samsung is not the only company looking into releasing curve display technology, LG which is a long time rival of Samsung also have plans to mass produce both curve and flexible displays for smartphones by the end of 2013. It is important not to confuse curve screen with flexible screen which Nokia showed a year ago in the Nokia Kinetic programme. What we do know is  that curved displays will debut on Samsung devices next month but flexible displays are not expected anytime soon. Apple's iMessage messaging service just got spotted on Google Play Store and its available for download for Android devices. Like the name suggest, it allows you to send iMessages to not only Apple devices but also to other Android users that have the app installed. This is actually surprising seeing that the app had been in the store since September 12th according to the information on Google Play Store. Not only that, there are reviews being written which suggests that the app is performing as intended. As soon as my friend like other 1.1 million people loaded BBM for Android on his Android phone, he knew it was what he wanted and not Whatsapp. He was able to ping his other phone for about 5 minutes before it stopped working. Looks like the wait for BBM to totally go cross platform will take longer than anyone expected. This was the case when Andrew Bocking, Head of BBM at BlackBerry released a statement on the Inside BlackBerry Blog which explains the problems that occurred on Saturday's launch date, and steps that are currently being taken to fix it.
