Data services in some parts of the world can be very expensive and quite a lot of people would be glad if there is free internet for all especially in a country like India where a large population of people 252 million out of 1.3 billion have access to substantial data and Internet services. Oculus Virtual Reality (OVR) head gear is among the latest developments in the virtual reality and gaming world that has caught the attention of so many people including big companies like Google, Apple and the likes.  The company behind OVR head gear known as Oculus VR, had been very consistent with their Oculus Rift project thereby also forcing the likes of Sony to get serious with theirs. A rumor long ago was that Facebook and Google were bidding to buy Whatsapp for an unquoted price. The rumor was later dispelled and the matter became of the past. However, this time, Facebook have agreed to acquire Whatsapp, the social messaging company/app for $16 Billion: this is not a rumor as it was confirmed by Facebook. According to Facebook, the $16 billion will include $4 billion in cash and about $12 billion worth of Facebook shares. The agreement also provides for an additional $3 billion in restricted stock, to be granted to WhatsApp's founders and employees, that will vest over four years once the deal closes and also see the CEO of Whatsapp joint the board of directors at Facebook. To date, this is the largest buy over that Facebook has done - the deal with Instagram ($715.3 million) doesn't even come close. Surveillance is a big issue that has been making headlines in recent times. There had been reports that the US government, specifically the NSA constantly gaining access or forcing its way into servers to gain access to people's data stored on Tech giant servers. In other to address this issue of surveillance, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook along with seven other tech companies  wrote a open letter to the US president Barrack Obama and members of Congress urging them to look into reforming the government surveillance tactics being used according to the Wall Street Journal. Facebook just released an update to their Messenger app which a totally new user interface (UI).  With the outburst if IM apps and the recent addition of BBM going cross platform, most messaging apps are frantically working hard to enhance user experience so as to keep away from losing users.  Whatsapp constant updates sees no end and Facebook is not ready to slow down either.  The new Facebook Messenger is very cool, with flat blue app icon and new interface. Instagram was acquired by Facebook 17 months ago and although some were skeptical on what will come of the image sharing social platform. Most believe that Facebook will come with their advertising tactics to use the platform to generate income and it seem as though its about to really happen.
