iOS 7 is becoming gradually old even though iOS 7.1 was just released few days back.   Rumors of iOS 8 isn't new as its well known that by now, Apple would obviously be working on the next Apple device and the iOS version on it. For now, we do know a little about the next gen iPhone but no so much about the iOS until now when a screenshot of an iPhone running iOS 8 firmware was leaked as shown in the image below. From the image, you would see an icon known as Healthbook, TextEdit, Preview and another known as Tips. We do not have a full understanding of what these apps would do but the name alone pave way for us to believe that the iPhone 6 would by "health-conscious". YouTube recently updated their app for both Android and iOS to versions 5.0 and 2.0 respectively.  This new update brings a new very important feature to the table. This new feature allows one to watch a video and in the process search for another video to watch. This new multitasking feature is almost like having a split screen, where one screen play the present video being watched and the one below gives you the option to search for playlist or view comments to currently playing video. Alternatively, you could move the screen of the present video below in one corner and then search for videos at the top part of the screen. At any point, you could move the presently playing video to any part of the screen or make it full screen by turning your device horizontally. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has issued a new research note claiming that the iPhone 5S will be available in gold and have a 128GB storage option.  We also forecast the new model will add a new look, a golden casing, and a new option for larger 128GB storage, to offer greater differentiation from iPhone 5. If there's one thing that we know of KGI Securities Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, his predictions are always 90% true. To corroborate Kuo's claim, several gold parts of iPhone 5S have been seen. By now, a good number of people know that BlackBerry is releasing the revered BlackBerry Messenger to other platforms before September. This was further reassured by Thorsten Heins at the BBLive conference this morning. According to Thorsten Heins, BBM would be free of charge to download and use. However, only the messaging and group chat would be rolled put first, followed by BBM Voice, Screen Sharing, Video Capabilities and BBM channels later in the year. While a lot of folks are very much excited about this soon to be released BBM for Android and iOS, it is important to note that it won't support some devices. Below are the devices it won't support 1. Any Android device running Android version lower than Ice Cream Sandwich. That is, anything less than Android 4.0 won't be supported. 2. Apple App Store offers more useful apps Than Google Play Store and the reason isn't far fetched.  While we live in an age where software and applications have become more relevant than ever, any smartphone maker that do not have a huge application base in its app store is doomed and would suffer in sales of its devices, this is especially glaring with BlackBerry and Windows Phone devices.  That being said, having huge applications present in the app store isn't only the factor that determines the high adoption of a mobile operating system. What is the point of having over one million apps and 70% are not really useful to mankind? Mi BlackBerry CEO Thorsten Heins announced that Blackberry messenger for iOS and android would be available before the end of summer this year.  This means that before the end of September there should be BlackBerry Messenger in the Apple app store and Google play store for download. Furthermore, the CEO reaffirms that the application would be free of charge and would support iOS 6 and above for Apple products and Android 4.0 ICS for android devices. BlackBerry Messenger Would only support group and personal messaging at launch but would expand into BlackBerry channels, voice chat and other features found in the BlackBerry 10 version. Something big is coming soon to the iOS community. This was the impression that we got from the recent tweet by one of the popular hackers out there by the name of Joshua Hill aka @p0sixninja. Cydia is now available for Android devices. Yes, you read it right, that popular Cydia app on all jailbroken Apple devices now available for rooted Android. Jailbreak and SHSH blobs can be very confusing for some people especially those that are new to the Apple world. Knowledge they say is power. If you have knowledge and understanding on a particular topic you won't have issues dealing with that topic.   At the time of this writing, it is not recommended to update your iDevice to iOS 6.1.3 if you intend on jailbreaking your device untethered. The usual cat  and mouse game between Apple and vast majority of jailbreaker and hackers have started again. Evasi0n was the tool that brought about untethered jailbreak to all iDevices running iOS 6.0 - 6.1.2 for a while and seems as though the cat & mouse game ended. However new reports especially from popular member of the evad3rs team David Wang (p0sixninja) says that those that want to keep their untethered jailbreak should stay away from updating to the upcoming iOS 6.1.3 firmware.
