Tecno H5 smartphone: Our Opinion

Update

Tecno Mobile have announced their latest phone called the Tecno H5 with features similar to the Tecno P5 smartphone; hence it's a low end smartphone for those want an Android smartphone without ripping their bank accounts.

Personally, we believe the Tecno H5 is Tecno P5 in a new skin and name for 2014 and we will show you why after seeing the specifications below.

Tecno H5 is a 4.0inch, 480 x 800 resolution display, dual SIM/dual standby smartphone equipped with Android Jelly Bean 4.2.2 as it's operating system and in the usual fashion with 2G/3G network capabilities.

The CPU inside the device is a MediaTek MT6572M chip clocked at 1.0GHz and it's dual-core.

Tecno H5 has a rear camera of 5mp with flashlight while front facing camera is 0.3mp - - equipped with a memory card slot that supports up to 32GB SD card, the phone is able to store enough pics and data.

While we are indifferent about the 4GB internal memory storage, the 512MB RAM of the device gets us worried. Can't Tecno give low income earners and those with tight budget a 1GB RAM smartphone? We guess not.

Anyways, the other specifications of the device are the norm and standard we have seen so far - like the usual WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi Hotspot, GPS and USB connectivity.

The price tag is N13,500 from Divine Anyi Communications, Computer Village Ikeja at distributor price. You can get yours by visiting the store or by calling 08060791362. Currently, we don't know what price Slot and Micro-station are offering it but it shouldn't be more than N14,000.

The usual suspects in the sensor department are the proximity, gyro and light sensors. Furthermore, the device has FM Radio, Calendar, Google Maps, Gmail, and other apps preinstalled.

Everything is powered by a 1800mAh battery.

Now, after all these specifications stated above, compare it with the Tecno P5 and even S5 and tell us they are not the same as the H5 with no new addition.

Our Opinion
The Tecno H5 is a repacked and re-labelled version of the early Tecno low end device like the P5, S5 only this time with a different processor MT6572M.

Going by the price stated above, N13,500, we can say that its a fair price and it should appeal to folks who are need of the Tecno H5.

Tecno should start thinking of making their low end devices come with 1GB RAM and the high end devices with 2GB RAM especially when they are still on the more memory consuming Android Jelly Bean rather than the Android KitKat.

  4. What's wrong with Tecno? They should start thinking clearly as it seems their thinking is getting clouded and they're losing their credibility and appeal.

So, what is in this Infinix Alpha that can change the table in favour of Infinix this time around? See  the specifications below to get you started. Tecno M3 Specifications and Features

Tecno is making the news again after a slight break. This time around Tecno have released a low-end smartphone called Tecno M3 for those that are on a tight budget.  This phone comes with 8GB internal memory card, USB adapter & charger, earphone and a plastic case. Although Tecno L3 and D3 are almost the same with M3, M3 has a better camera (5mp) with more swift feel especially when browsing. L3 on the other hand has a better battery performance but much slower internet speed. As we said in one of our posts, the 3 is a designation for low-end devices and the newly released L3 and M3 is proof of that. For a device of the price, feel and usage is smooth enough. Make sure you check the speaker of your M3 since some have reported that its not too clear. Below is the specifications of the M3 low-end smartphone. Network : the new M3 supports both 2G and 3G networks Connectivity : Bluetooth 3.0 with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). It also has
