There are no limit to the possibilities one can achieve on a rooted Android device compared to one that isn't rooted. As you know, Rooting is to Androin as Jailbreak is to iOS.
For those that don't know what rooting means, a little definition will suffice. Rooting basically means that you install a set of programs on your phone that gives you total control over your device. Total control means that you have the right to install any applications or even delete core applications that you don't want.
Simply put, you have administrative rights over your device, giving you super user access, and of course, you can use DroidVPN to have free unlimited internet.
The guide below shows how you can root Tecno Phantom A also known as Tecno F7 and its super easy to achieve. Don't forget to like us on Facebook.
Requirements
1. Computer with internet connection
2. PdaNet+ V4.12 zipped file
3. eroot_v1.3.3 zipped file
4. USB to connect your device to the computer
5. Backup your phone data just in case.
6. For some that couldn't get drivers for their Tecno F7, you can install Mobilego

Notes
1. Rooting your phone voids your warranty
2. Anything that happens while rooting your device is on you. You are doing it at your own risk
3. There are softwares to unroot your phone if you don't want the rooting option again.
Procedures
1. Connect your Tecno F7 to the computer
3. Install the PdaNet+ V4.12 as shown in the image below.
4. If you have already installed the driver of your F7 in the computer before at one time, you can choose No in the dialogue box shown to you otherwise, select Yes.
A box would show up asking you to either Skip or Cancel Installation. Leave it and move to the next step
5. Next you need to enable debugging mode on your phone. To do this, go to Settings, scroll to Developer Option, tap on it and then select USB debugging, click OK at the prompt and then exit.
6. Once your device is detected by the computer and its in USB debug mode, a pop-up would show up to install a software from June Fabrics Technology. Click Install and let it finish its installation which would take place on your device too.
7. Run the eroot you downloaded earlier, it would display in Chinese, don't worry.
8. It would detect your device and then you will see the big bold Root menu. Click on Root and you would be rooted in no time.
9. Disconnect the USB connection,now locate you Phone menu, You will be
able to Find a New Application Installed on your Phone with name
‘Superuser'.
10. Reboot your Tecno F7 and you will be good to go with a rooted Tecno Phantom A smartphone.

ReplyDeleteIf you had the driver for your Tecno F7 installed on your computer and USB debugging is enabled, eroot should detect your phone and -root should show up.
DeleteHowever, you can download mobilego for your PC, install and connect your phone to it. This will help properly install needed drivers. Remember, you need internet connection to install these drivers.

Your phone isn't meant to reboot for any reason. You should try rooting again.
DeleteAlso, you don't have some theme and fon changing apps on your phone. Its being reported that some of these apps could mess up your device. Only got for theme apps that are widely known and stable like Go widgets.

Regarding call stuff, go to sim management under settings and make sure both sim are on.

ReplyDeleteSomething to note: "Developer Settings" options is hidden by default in Android JellyBean 4.2. To enable it in the Settings section, select the "About Phone (or Tablet)" option in Settings, and then tap seven (7) times on the "Build Number" item. By the time you are at the 4th tap, a notification toast will inform you that you have to tap a few times more. Then you'll see the "Developer Options" entry show up in the Settings.

Its almost as if features found in 4.3 are being ported to other jelly bean devices partially.

after rooting it i was like fly,then i started doing things i thought i know, i got this App "No Bloat" which i was told will remove bloatwares on my android making it more faster. i did installed and after deleting couple of items...now when i open my play store they will say "gapps" Has STOP

Gapps refer to Google Apps and u can fix it by going to Settings > Apps > Google Play. Click on Google Play Store, Force stop and clear data. That should fix it. If all fails, reset ur phone but backup b4 u do.

You can also try going to Apps under settings and then tap the left soft touch menu key and click on "Reset app preferences"

Press the phone button, tap on the middle arrow at the top, this would show all calls. Tap on the soft menu key(left), click on delete and then select the call logs you want to delete. Finally, tap the bin icon and it would be deleted.

2. launch app, click on slash button
3. Tap the phone menu button to reveal new options
4. tap Root Explore setting it to ON
5. Super user will ask to grant super privilege or root privileges. allow it
6. Now go to the System Folder, then bin, then find su. Long press SU to select and then delete/
7. Now go into xbin folder which is also in the System folder
8. Delete the su file there
9. Now go to App folder, also located in the System folder and delete the Superuser.apk
10. Finally reboot your device. That's all, very easy

I use a Tecno N9 and when I tried to follow the steps, the tab would restart and the rooting process would be terminated.
I had installed, the iron man 3 live theme so I changed it back to the default theme but it still won't root.

just follow the guide as it is there, it should work. I just rooted my Phantom tab using this guide, and also rooted an Infinix x350, with this guide also. One thing you should be careful of however is to make sure you don't grant any app you dont understand super user access, otherwise you are on your own...

ReplyDeleteIt seems that you are having either driver issues or you don't have developer options selected. If its driver problem, check to be sure the driver for your phone is installed. You can check from device manager. If you are not sure, look for a post I wrote on unbricking tecno f7, all the drivers are there for download. Reboot the phone and make sure developer option is enabled after all drivers must have been installed then try it again bro. God punish devil. It must root

ReplyDeleteIts due to the data/data file for the apps in question. You need to be rooted to be able to see the data/data file which you can now delete the files and then re-install the affected apps.
DeleteAlternatively, a factory reset will fix it. Make sure you back up all your stuffs though before you wipe
I have done 17 resets since my last post and it hasn't fixed it. After the third reset, I noticed some apps installed but others didn't so I did another reset. But instead, it installed the latter apps and rejected the former lol funny tho

To delete contact in phone book, go to contacts, press the left soft button, select delete contact and then you can start marking the ones you want to delete. When through with the marking, click OK at the top right corner and then delete. Do the same for call logs.
DeleteIf your phone sleeps, go to Settings/Display switch off Daydream and change Sleep time to 5minutes if you want.
Regarding rooting, its not all necessary to root. When you root it, you have to be super sure of what you install on your phone. I suggest that you don't root your phone. Also, it voids your warranty.
hello Akin, my phantom A+ keeps re-booting on its own. Secondly, the battery drains faster than expected. Please what can i do to avert this.
ReplyDeletedo a quick backup of your phone. Perhaps an app is constantly draining the battery or the battery is getting weak. One way to find out is to try see any app you installed recently that made you start noticing this issues. If you can't find anything or app responsible, then i suggest you reset your android phone to avoid further damage to the scripts in the phone. To reset, go to Settings/ Backup & reset and follow the instructions to reset.

ReplyDeleteRooting only allows u to have full power over your fone. Pls check the comments above for better understanding. However, its not really important to root your phone except you have good knowledge of the consequences are. You also lose your warranty. Although rooting can be undone.

ReplyDeleteThe problem is the internal memory space. Both apps on internal and external memory can affect it.
DeleteGo to Settings/Apps look for Facebook, click on it and then clear data, do the same for Chrome (you would lose all your saved pages and you would need to enter password again). delete some apps that are stored on SD card that you hardly use. U can always download them again later. Most of the apps eating the space can be seen using an app called 1 Tap Cleaner. Download for free and clean the phone. Check my tutorial on solving memory space on the blog
Hello Akin,pls what can cause battery to drain quickly. And what can I do to resolve this. During usage on internet,between 30 min it drains from 100 to 89 % or thereabouts. Do u think live wallpaper and internet surfing can cause this. Thanks. My warmest regard. My phone is f7 phantom
ReplyDeleteLive Wallpaper, browsing the Internet and Backlight of the screen are very strong suspects. Battery drain faster when browsing the Internet with data than with WiFi.
DeleteAlso, the battery life will get weaker over time. Furthermore, some apps can drain battery too.
What you can do is reduce Backlight to lowest when browsing.
If this started happening recently, you should change the live wallpaper, it can drain battery or check a newly installed app that have affinity for battery consumption

ReplyDeleteI must say there is a good job going on here. My f7 suddenly started displaying streaks of verticals line on images I took and on the camera when I shoot video or even simple snapshots. How can I fix this?

ReplyDeleteThat's abnormal and you are supposed to see the SuperUser icon. What you can do is unroot the phone using VROOT and then root with Kingoapp. You will find info on how to do this on my blog.

ReplyDeleteHello Senator, you can try reloading the ROM. that should fix it bcos it's possible the OS is corrupt by a new app you install that started the issue.

I just successfully rooted my Tecno F7 device all thanks you. God bless you bro. Now my question is "How does this help me with my memory issue?" cos the main reason I tried rooting was cos my phone kept showing me storage full even when I had less than no app installed.
