Tecno is making the news again after a slight break. This time around Tecno have released a low-end smartphone called Tecno M3 for those that are on a tight budget.
This phone comes with 8GB internal memory card, USB adapter & charger, earphone and a plastic case.
Although Tecno L3 and D3 are almost the same with M3, M3 has a better camera (5mp) with more swift feel especially when browsing. L3 on the other hand has a better battery performance but much slower internet speed.
As we said in one of our posts, the 3 is a designation for low-end devices and the newly released L3 and M3 is proof of that. For a device of the price, feel and usage is smooth enough. Make sure you check the speaker of your M3 since some have reported that its not too clear.

From the specs above you will see that it's truly a low-end device with latest operating system running on it.
Since its low-end, we do not expect the RAM or screen/display to be too grand. If you are on a tight budget, I think you could go for this smartphone.

ReplyDeleteAm not sure if the battery is totally the same and can enter each other's battery compartment. However, you should check the current output of both phones before you can be sure its swappable.
DeleteThat being said, it is always better to use recommended battery, that is, the type that came with the phone to avoid unforeseen problems.

ReplyDeleteJayd, try reboot your phone. see if it works. If it fails, see if the router authentication haven't been changed. For example, WPA/WPA2 or other protocols.

ReplyDeleteCheck to be sure that the charger is okay and working properly. also make sure that the USB cable is good. If after checking doing that then you should take it back to where you bought it from for complain. if its rooted, unroot it so that your warranty is still intact.

ReplyDeleteNetwork security key is the password you created when setting up your hotspot. Go to settings-->More-->Tethering and portable hotspot-->WiFi Hotspot and click on Set up WiFi hotspot, you can set up your password/security here or leave it as it is. Your PC should connect with it since no network key is needed.

Before i explain, i want to clarify that today's smartphone will become feature phone in the future just like the likes of Nokia 3310 etc are now called feature phone. This is solely due to the functions that can perform at a point in time.
DeleteBasically, today's smartphones allow for various individuals to develop applications that will run and communicate to the phone at the lowest level using APIs. This ability greatly increases the number of activities the phones can do.
For example, your samsung S5 can do heartrate monitoring, connect to wifi, turn on the TV using IR transmission, read books, play high powerful games, do scanning, allow for OS upgrades, extend functions using API (Application Protocol Interface) etc. These new things are common to phones made in this age and therefore they are consider smarter than phones of old. Hence they are called Smartphones. Any phone that can't do something similar or that has no operating system that allows for API and firmware upgrades is considered a feature phone.
In the near future, new phones would have some great new features just like personal assistant, hologram etc that would render the phone of say 2013 a feature phone.

Am asking because I think it is strange that nowhere in the manuals of the N3, D3 or Phantom F7 is this mentioned and looking across a wide range of other Tecno smartphones as well, I have come to see that this seems to be the practice. I think also, that these are relevant questions we, as users, should be asking and which they (Tecno) should freely provide. This is so that we know just what we are buying and not harm ourselves (by exposing ourselves to cancer risks) trying to save a few Naira. please if you know any sites where I can find this information, I trust you will share, as I haven't yet found any online. ReplyDeleteGo to "Settings > Apps > Camera" and selected "Force Stop" and then "Uninstall updates" Reboot phone and it should be back working. If not working, consider uninstalling any recent app you installed that may have triggered the problem. You can check Skype or Cam Scanner, those two sometimes have been identified as a probable culprit.
