Windows Phone 8.1 Revealed

The mobile industry is no child's play at all when it comes to evolution and competition: Microsoft won't be sitting on her balls this year, we believe, seeing how much of recognition it gained last year.

To not stay awash, mobile phone makers need to innovate and present something new - this Microsoft has done as shown in the latest leaks that we saw of Windows Phone 8.1 Action Center.

The notification center known as the Action Center has been given a face lift with a good number of new features. First, swiping down from top of the screen reveals the Action Center with four basic tasks: WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane mode and Driving; these notifications can be customised to taste. The action center also shows date, time, battery level percentage and network bars.

On further swiping down of the Action Center, a full Action Center will be revealed, giving you a detailed information of all the notifications of apps, messages and other items. Like other notification centers we have seen, you can easily swipe away at the notification that you don't want to attend to or the ones you want to ignore.

Microsoft is really gearing up to stand up to the likes of Android and iOS in 2014 considering all that the Redmond company is trying to achieve so far.

It was rumored that Microsoft is considering allowing Windows phones to run Android apps and also on its desktop version of Windows too. Furthermore, Microsoft is working on its own personal assistant app known as Cortana which will be part of Windows Phone 8.1 with Foursquare, Bing and other sources to provide the personal assistant with relevant information it needs.

Windows Phone 8.1 is expected to be unveiled in April and we would be looking forward to bringing you all the details you would need as times goes by.

How To Unbrick Tecno F7 Smartphone

About a week ago, a friend rooted his Tecno Phantom A smartphone. He was so excited about the endless possibilities to customize his device so he kept installing a lot of applications that caught his attention unaware of the dangers some apps can create on rooted smartphones. Finally, he installed an application called Font Changer Lite and that was when it all happened. After installing this app, his phone attempted to reboot and instead of booting normally, the phone froze at the Tecno logo. It wasn’t going passed that state. He couldn’t boot into his phone. Practically, his phone was bricked and had to look for a way to unbrick and use his phone again. If you are presently in the same limbo state as described, please follow the instructions below step by step to fix your device. I recommend reading through first before actually starting the process. Kudos to Seunpayne of Nairaland for uploading his files for download and also giving instructions on the usage....
